ADF families in the Darwin region, nominate your child/ren to receive a Child of the ADF Medallion. The Child of the ADF Medallion (CoADFM) will be presented to children who have shown resilience and growth in managing the challenges of the ADF lifestyle. Participation in the Child of the ADF Medallion Program is open to all Defence resident family children aged 18 years and under of current serving (SERCAT 3-7 and SERVOP C) ADF members, who have experienced one or more of the following: managing a relocation, connecting to a new community following relocation, managing a lengthy absence or frequent absences of the ADF family member due to service requirements, absence of ADF member due to short notice posting, deployment or exercise.
This training provides insight into common types of cognitive diversity experienced by clients in alcohol and other drug (AOD) settings, and explores how to adapt approaches to effectively and inclusively support people in withdrawal, treatment and recovery. Participants will learn practical strategies for recognising and responding to both temporary and long-term cognitive differences, ensuring that AOD practice is inclusive, responsive and person-centred.
