Join Antonella from Flortanica for a hands-on workshop where you will create a beautiful floral arrangement in a ceramic vase using a variety of dried and preserved flowers and foliage. Join us this summer to discover what's involved in keeping European Honey Bees. From hives & gear, to pest & diseases, this session covers the basics of beekeeping with local beekeeper Glenn Locke. A light afternoon tea will be provided with local honeys.
Discover the joy of keeping native bees in your garden in this interactive workshop with local native bee enthusiast, Steve Maginnity. Australia is home to more than 2000 species of native bees, the majority of which are solitary or semi-social bees including the Teddy Bear Bee, Blue Banded Bee and the Cuckoo Bee. In this workshop we look at native bee biology, native bees in the wild, bee box design, planting for native bees and native bee honey. We will also cover how to keep your own native bee hive, and we will open a hive for an inspection, and perform a hive split (weather permitting). The workshop will be held at the Woopi Bee Shed and will be a mix of classroom and outdoor sessions. Morning tea including honey tastings will be included in the experience.
A gentle, supportive art workshop designed for people living with arthritis or joint pain. Julieanne will be accompanied by an occupational therapist, who will share practical tips on comfortable positioning, pacing, and tool use to help reduce strain on hands and joints. These small, optional adjustments are designed to make art-making easier and more enjoyable. The session is relaxed, social, and flexible. No previous art experience is required, and participants are encouraged to work at their own pace.
