Westmead Women's and Newborn Health offer a CPR for baby and child first aid course, which you are invited to attend. CPR Kids run the course. These sessions run for three hours, either on a Thursday evening from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm or on a Sunday Morning from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm. They are interactive, with many opportunities to ask questions throughout. Fully qualified Paediatric Registered Nurses run the sessions. We cater to up to 24 people in a course. We know that what you do in the minutes before medical help arrives will impact the outcome of your child’s health. Our classes make you confident to manage an emergency situation with your child. Over three hours, our paediatric nurses share their years of experience with you. The entire class will get the chance to put evidence-based theory into practice on our lifelike baby and child CPR manikins. This means that you know not only what to do but also exactly how to do it because every second counts in an emergency.

Backbends are powerful poses. They awaken vitality, improve posture, breath and circulation, while building the confidence to show up with a full, open heart. Yet for many students, backbends feel difficult, uncomfortable, a little stuck or even painful. If this is you, then this workshop is the perfect opportunity to experience backbends in a completely different way: as safe, accessible, and fun poses. We’ll work progressively using the Iyengar method to create space and lift in the body through precise alignment and the intelligent use of props like a chair, bolster, and wall. No superhuman strength or flexibility required! From this workshop, you can expect to: understand how to backbend without compressing the lower back, shoulders and neck, improve spinal health and awareness of your posture, build confidence in poses that once felt intimidating, experience the revitalising, mood-lifting effects of true backbends, leave with practical insights you can apply in your regular classes and home practice. This workshop is suitable for complete beginners and experienced practitioners alike. The class will be kept small to allow for individual guidance and hands-on adjustments throughout. Please bring your own mat.
