Explore the vibrant event scene and make the most of your time this month in Narooma. From education to science and more, we have the biggest event range and best discovery experience, there's something for everyone.
Create a “Magic Beach”–inspired treasure chest these school holidays. Join us for school holiday fun and make a treasure chest inspired by the illustrations in Alison Lester's beloved children’s book, “Magic Beach”. We’ll use paper-crafting skills to construct a treasure chest and decorate it with natural and imagined treasures… “As we push back the lid, we are dazzled by light from the glittering treasure inside.” What treasures will you find at your own magic beach these holidays?
A half-hour session of songs and rhymes for babies 0-18 months. It’s never too early to start reading to your baby. Books are a great way to entertain and build up your relationship with your baby. The relaxed and supportive environment allows parents and caregivers to engage with their babies through reading, songs, rhyme and play with the support of staff.
Join us for our Monday matinee screening of a Humphrey Bogart and Katharine Hepburn classic. Set during World War I in Africa, the story follows Rose Sayer (Katharine Hepburn), a strong-willed missionary, and Charlie Allnut (Humphrey Bogart), a rough but resourceful riverboat captain. Forced to work together, they navigate dangerous rivers on an old steamboat with a daring plan to attack a German warship threatening the local people. Packed with thrilling adventure, stunning African landscapes, and a mix of drama and humour, the film highlights the unlikely partnership and growing bond between the two leads. Humphrey Bogart earned an Oscar for Best Actor for his role. Enjoy the film, light refreshments, and a chat afterwards. Due to licensing restrictions, we cannot advertise the movie name. Ask our friendly library staff for more information.
Join us at Narooma Library to see White Rocks, a bold new documentary exposing one of Australia’s least known yet most urgent marine crises. Long-spined sea urchins are transforming vibrant kelp forests into lifeless barrens across more than 2,000 km of the Great Southern Reef. White Rock brings together scientists, Traditional Owners, divers, and chefs, including environmental filmmaker Damon Gameau, to show how Australia can turn crisis into opportunity. From ecological disaster to culinary potential: come along to find out more. Enjoy refreshments and a Q&A with special guests following the screening. An opportunity to donate to the Great Southern Reef Foundation's work will be available.
