Celebrate International Women's Day at Moruya Library with award-winning author, adventurer and veterinarian Karen Viggers. Karen will discuss how her love of animals and wild places has shaped her life and her writing. Her journeys to remote locations have generated challenges and experiences she never imagined. She’s visited Antarctica as a wildlife vet, lived for two weeks on an uninhabited Bass Strait island, searched for tigers and snow leopards in Bhutan, and undertaken gruelling hikes in Tasmania. And still works as a vet, caring for domestic animals and wildlife. Karen feels fortunate that being a woman has never held her back and that she’s always had her family's support. We’ll also hear a short presentation from local advocate Rhonnie South, who has been standing up against domestic and family violence in the Eurobodalla.
