Destination Sydney Surrounds South is excited to be hosting the Visitor Economy Symposium again in 2026! Our Visitor Economy Symposium is back, and this year, we've raised the bar. As our industry works to deliver the ambitions of the NSW Visitor Economy Strategy 2035, one thing is clear: success depends on how effectively we share knowledge, build capability, and work together. This year's Symposium is designed to do exactly that: bringing practical insights, real-world examples, and genuine collaboration into one room, for one powerful day. By coming together to learn, connect, and share ideas, we'll help ensure our region is well placed to grow a strong, sustainable, and competitive visitor economy. This is strategy becoming action.

Matty B (Nimbin Mardi Grass) is rising the ranks of Australian comedy as he forges a reputation as a joke writer and unique performer. His shows have received critical acclaim and have been described as ‘uniquely esoteric’ and ‘brilliant alternative art expertly performed. Ruven Govender is a South African Indian raised in New Zealand. He has performed around the world and is a hit at festivals such as Edinburgh Fringe, Perth Fringe, Sydney Fringe and Melbourne International Comedy Festival. He has performed as part of TedX and featured on multiple Netflix series. He is also the worlds only fully professional comedian-stuntman. He has 3 blackbelts!!! Gavin Scott is also a Roast Battle Champion. Marty Bright has taken his unique, up-beat brand of physical and observational hybrid comedy across Australia, New Zealand, USA and Canada, performing at some of the top clubs including Sydney's Comedy Store, LA's Comedy Store, Broadway Comedy Club (NYC),Montreal's Comedy Works and The Classic (NZ). Along the way he has been the support for some of the top talent Australia and the world has to offer including Akmal, Luke Heggie, Daniel Muggleton, Neel Kolhatkar,JoeDaymond, Steve Hoffstetter and Chris Ryan.

Across exhibitions, public commissions and community engagement, Freedom’s practice returns to the potency of the human mark/gesture as a record of presence, memory and labour. Drawing on historical dialogue, Mikey champions the need for and continued importance of, critical rigour in contemporary art.
Fresh from a new recording, WAYWARD E>MOTIONS, and a tour that took them from Bermagui to Agnes Waters Blues and Roots Festival in Queensland, HDC are. It is the Year of the Horse, and that means tumultuous times worldwide. Overseas travel is dubious at best- but HDC will take you on a little adventure from Chicago down to Mrs. Hippy's place in the South on a one night spin: it's going to be bluesy, and a little bit funky, soulful, a little bit country, and a whole lotta fun. It's been awhile since we have been to this fine little spot, an oases for the horses, and lovers of live music in a friendly venue. As many of you are aware, tickets are very limited, so it is likely to fill up.
