On the edge of Lavenders Bridge lies a small section of riverbank that needs your help! Join Bellingen Shire Council, OzGreen, Stroud Homes and Arborgreen for a community planting morning this March. Open to community members, families and businesses, it is a really beautiful way to start your morning - giving back to the river and meeting new people! We will share a light morning tea after we have finished. The aim is to come together to plant out the downstream, south-eastern side of Lavenders Bridge. The site is currently dominated by an invasive grass (Setaria sphacelata) which we would like to replace with native grasses, herbs and lilies. The bush regeneration of this site will enable better bank stabilisation, an increase in biodiversity and strengthening of the wildlife corridor along the banks of the Bellinger.
