Tantrum Teachers’ Forum continues to meet in 2026 - a community of educators dedicated to growing their practice and shaping the future of arts and creativity in schools in Newcastle and the Hunter. Inclusive Arts Practice through Theatre Making. ‘Making Space’ The session will be practical, drawing on ideas and accessible practice from theatre making, including the creative use of audio description, captioning and visual storytelling. We will consider how to plan and design inclusive environments for learning and consider how to integrate accessible activities and tools through the lens of the aesthetic of access in theatre.
Informed by the latest research in suicide prevention, Wesley LifeForce has developed a quality suite of suicide prevention training. Our suicide prevention training equips participants with the knowledge and skills to increase awareness of suicide in Australia, identify the signs that someone may be at risk of suicide and appropriate action to take.
The University of Newcastle will be hosting an information session for parents and carers of prospective students from the Maitland region. We are in Maitland supporting parents and carers of senior school students. If you have a child who is currently completing senior studies, come visit us for our Parents and Carers Info Session. Come and chat anytime between 5:30pm - 7pm, the presentation will commence at 6pm. Parents and Carers will have the opportunity to hear from University staff and current students, with a presentation touching on areas such as: Our different entry schemes, such as the Early Entry Program, Schools Recommendation Scheme & Year 12 Subject Spotlight Our campus locations, accommodation, scholarships and more Student experience and support services available Following this, there will be an opportunity for Q&A's if you had any specific questions you may like to ask.
